Chloe
👼 Hey HIPpies, we are excited to introduce you to Chloe!
Chloe was diagnosed with Hip Dysplasia when she was 22 months old.
🩰 Her parents first noticed that she tip toed around on her right leg which they thought was normal for a child learning to walk – but after 6 months they began to think that something was wrong.
After a visit to Chloe’s doctor she was referred for an x-ray – which revealed that she had Hip Dysplasia in her right hip.
🩺 In March 2022, Dr. Kishore Mulpuri and his team at BC Children’s Hospital performed surgery on her right hip which included an open reduction, pelvic osteotomy, femoral shortening, and adductor release.
Recovery was tough for Chloe because she loves to run around and play, but once she got used to her Spica cast she was able to play with her building blocks and iPad again.
💚 Chloe is now out of her Rhino cruiser and walking perfectly. Dr. Mulpuri said that everything in her hip is in the correct position. And in about 4 months Chloe will be able to have the plates in her hip removed.
Early detection is key, and with your generous support, we’re able to continue making stories like Chloe’s possible!
