Caden

15-year old Caden is an avid Instagram vlogger who loves to explore the world around him and share his experiences with his followers. Caden, like his father, was born with Spondyloepiphyseal Dysplasia Congenita (SEDc). When Caden was just 1-month old, his medical journey began at BC Children’s Hospital because of his short stature, skeletal dysplasia and hip dysplasia.

Caden has undergone numerous treatments and surgeries in his 15 years, from MRI scans, neck fusions to multiple leg and hip surgeries. Caden began seeing Dr. Kishore Mulpuri in 2009 and together with his family they have formed a team dedicated to giving Caden the best possible care.

“Dr. Mulpuri always values my opinions when discussing surgeries and makes sure I understand what each procedure will do for me in aiding with my pain and overall growth, said Caden. “He has never treated me like I was just a kid in the room but spoke directly to me, the way he spoke to my parents. Going forward, I do know that I am in the best hands I could possibly be in.”

Through all the medical intervention Caden remains positive and upbeat even though he could be back in the OR at any time.

“I know my relationship with Dr. Mulpuri is an ongoing one and he will continue to be involved in my ongoing care until I become an adult, said Caden. “With my condition, we are on a ‘see-as-we-go’ basis for surgical intervention and I realize we are not done yet!”
