Mattias
Mattias was diagnosed with Leg Calve Perthes disease in October 2018. Mattias has always been active and before his diagnosis he played hockey, lacrosse and baseball. After he was diagnosed he stopped playing the sports he loved, which was very difficult for him. In April 2019 Mattias had surgery and the recovery was challenging, confining him to a wheelchair and walker and he had to learn to walk again. Slowly Mattias returned to his usual active self and earlier this week he had surgery to have his hardware removed. His bones are healing well and Dr. Mulpuri told Mattias’ family that after recovery he should be back to playing the sports he has missed so much. Brad and Nikki, Mattias’ parents said his positive outcome is because the Perthes disease was caught early.
“We would like to thank Dr.Mulpuri and his amazing wonderful team for getting us all through this. We will forever be thankful for you all.” - Brad and Nikki Thompson
