Makenna

8-year-old Makenna from Vancouver Island was diagnosed with hip dysplasia minutes after birth.

After 6 weeks in a Pavlik Harness her hip condition wasn’t improving and she ultimately ended up having open reduction surgery and was put in a spica cast. She went on to have more unsuccessful surgeries before she was referred to Dr. Kishore Mulpuri at BC Children’s Hospital. Makenna required further surgical intervention and each has been successful. She may still require more surgeries but her family feels like they’re in good hands and are hopeful for her future.
